9.Day Departure direction Arwajcheer. Now we leave the Gobi and arrive in the Mongolian central country. Arwaicheer is the district capital city on the southern edge of the Archangai Mountains. Here, we will supplement our stocks on the market for the next few days before proceeding to the Orchon waterfalls. Immediately after Arwaicheer, the slope leads us up to 2500 mtr. And we are surrounded for the first time in a long time by real forest. We will stay in one of the lush green valleys of the Archangai Mountains.
10.Day We are now entering the southern Archangai Mountains on a very beautiful stretch. In the beginning we follow the Taatsyn gol, which has created a scenic valley. We continue steadily uphill until we reach the region of the high valleys in the Archangai Mountains. Drive to the Orchon waterfalls. These waterfalls have been created by volcanic activities and the entire Ochon valley is exceptionally beautiful. There will also be enough time for a hike around the waterfalls today.
11.Day We continue drive to Karakorum, the former capital of the Mongols. In Karakorum is also the monastery Erdene Zuu, which was built only after the disintegration of Karakorum, partly from the stones of the city. Only a few traces bear witness to the size of the town. What was not destroyed by the harsh climate, much to the efforts of the communists, who have tried to radically eliminate the historical traces. Today, research is being carried out under the leadership of the University of Cologne.
12.Day Through the Orkhon valley with its green meadows we drive today to Chöschöö Tsaidam archaeological site (Tonyukuk).
