6. Day

Hike through the Bearded Vulture Gorge. The gorge still contains large masses of ice created in winter by a small river well into the summer. You can also observe bearded vultures, ibexes and other animals. A small museum at the entrance to the gorge provides information about the wildlife and the turbulent past of the gobi. Today you drive through Gurvan Saikhan. At this sDaye of the day, the "mountain goats" among the participants will get their money's worth. In the afternoon we reach the southern side of the mountains and continue to the small village of Noyan in the southern Gobi.

7. DayDrive through the southern Gobi to Gurvantes.
8. DayDrive south, almost to the Chinese border - total desert. On the way you will be able to see an old salt extraction plant in which, according to the traditional principle, water from a saline spring is naturally evaporated until a solid salt crust remains. A stopover at the really extremely cold springs of Naran Daats and then on to the Tsulganai Oases. This oasis area is uninhabited and with a little luck we can swim in the evening in one of the lakes created by the rainwater.
9. DayDrive north to Bayanling. The path leads us through a unique mountain world that is still completely untouched. We will explore this unique area with our motorcycles.
10. DayToday we go along the Gobi Altai Nuruu Mountains to the village and continue to the rock formation "Bichigt Khad". In the gorges of Bichigt Khad there are extensive areas with rock paintings that we will visit. At noon we drive to the "White Cave". The Tsagaan Agui Cave is somewhat hidden in the Tsakhir Mountains. Here we find the traces of Stone Age people and then we drive through a unique rocky landscape in the Gobi to Oorg Nuur, one of the four Gobi lakes.
11. DayToday will be a sandy day. From Oorg nuur we drive north to the small village Baruunbajan ulaan. This village is situated directly at a small salt lake, which we will visit. Afterwards we cross the Gobi to the highest mountain in the region, the Tevisch Uul. There we will make a detour to Tevish Uul to see the little explored rock drawings..
12. DayToday we are in the region of the Tevisch Uuls. Today we will not eat large kilometres, but will look for rock drawings in the valleys of the Tevisch Uuls. This day is also a small "recreation day" after the long sDayes in the Gobi.
13. DayFrom Tevisch Uul we drive to the sand dune "Chongoriin Els, also called singing dune. Whenever the wind blows over the sharp degree of the dune, a more or less complaining sound is produced. The "exciting" thing about this dune is the fact that the wind deposits the gobisand behind a mountain range and a river carries this sand again and again. This "battle" between water and sand constantly creates new terrain formations. In the evening you have the possibility to climb up to 400 mtr. high sand dune and enjoy a wonderful sunset.
14. DayToday we will rest from the desert tour. We have all day and will visit the big sand dune Khongorin Else. Who likes, can also be on the way with the camel.

The "red Cliffs" are also known as the dinosaur cemetery, since the first large dinosaur finds were made here during the Gobi expedition of Sven Hedin. Nearby is also the largest saxaul tree forest in the Gobi. The saxaul tree is an extremely slow growing tree that has adapted optimally to the situation in the gobi.
16. DayDrive to Ongij Monastery and visit the ruins of the monastery. This monastery used to be one of the largest. Today there are only ruins to visit and one can only guess the former greatness. With much commitment monks slowly rebuild this monastery. We have enough time to talk to the monks about their situation and Buddhism. Continue towards Arwajcheer.
17. DayToday we leave the Gobi and drive north to the district capital Arwaicheer. There we have once again the possibility to supplement our food. There is a colourful hustle and bustle on the market. After the visit of the city, it goes on mountain roads into the mountains.

The waterfall is located in the middle of a lava field and the landscape around the waterfall is uniquely beautiful. We take our lunch break on the banks of the Orchon River.
